'Got a TKA patient who can\'t bend their knee under load? Or simply doesn\'t have the CONFIDENCE to go into a “deep” squat? Try THIS exercise called the Cowboy Squat which will help facilitate their confidence. . The patient KNOWS the swiss ball is under them. If they do in fact lose control during the squat, they can rest assured knowing they won\'t fall all the way to the floor! Ideally you would choose a size that is exactly at the depth where the patient can no longer control the squat either due to poor control or lack of strength. . The elasticity of the Swiss ball will actually HELP the patient power through the bottom of the squat. In this video, I\'m showing the cowboy squat with a TON of assistance. Ideally, the Swiss ball would only do JUST ENOUGH to help the patient get control at the bottom of the squat and rise back up. #squat #squats #swissball #cowboysquat ______________________________________________ The Prehab Guys: Optimizing human movement and performance, promoting longevity, and keeping your movement system in tune one post at a time.
