'Today we are going to show you a low volume immersion way to create a multicolored roving. (This technique will also work on pre-spun yarn.) You will want just enough water in the pot to cover your fiber. Presoak your fiber on its own or in the pot with water and a splash of white vinegar (1-2 T). Heat the water to just below boiling (around 180 degrees F.) With pouring or a syringe, apply your dye to various parts of the fiber. Voila! You have some stunning space dyed fiber! The premixed dyes are from the \"Breaking Wilton\'s Violet Food Coloring on Handpainted Roving\" Video - http://youtu.be/ltIb9SLytaU?t=54s 1 cup of water + 1.5 tsp white vinegar plus food coloring. Welcome to another dyeing experiment, where you can discover the result along with me. Visit http://www.chemknits.com for free patterns and more knitting & yarn dyeing tutorials.'
