'Not only does this cake look amazing, it tastes great too! Perfect for a birthday :) Ingredients: (makes 1 normal size cake or 2 half size cakes) Simple vanilla buttercake - (you can make whichever cake you prefer .. or even use a packet one!) 3 cups of sifted plain flour (you can use self raising, just don\'t add the baking powder) 3 teaspoons of baking powder 185g of butter 1 1/2 cups of sugar 2 teaspoons of vanilla 4 eggs 1 cup of milk Food colouring Buttercream frosting: 150g of butter 250g icing sugar 1 teaspoon of vanilla 2 tablespoons of milk (this is enough for one cake, make extra if making two tiers) Note: I find that cake sometimes gets a little hard in the refrigerator. I would either leave this cake out at room temp in an air tight container for 1-2 days or if storing in the fridge, let the cake come down to room temperature before serving.
