Fast food fiends and seasoned travelers know that abroad, the Golden Arches tends to have a far more adventurous streak than it does stateside. Exotic dalliances have included a cup of McDonald’s Gazpacho in Spain, a McSpicy Paneer in India, a McKebab in Israel — the list is endless and ever growing.  But just because you’re patronizing a Mickey D’s in the lower 48 doesn’t mean you can’t partake in the latest culinary sensation conceived by the cadre of white-coated geniuses in McDonald’s top secret test kitchen. So what are we frothing on about? Feast your eyes on the McChocolate Potatoes (also known as “McFry Potato Chocolate Sauce”), a sweet and salty maelstrom of luscious white and milk chocolate drizzled over the chain’s sacrosanct starch. The real deal is only available in Japan for another week or so. This is our version.  Save yourself a boatload of yen on that last minute trip to Tokyo and instead apply this McDonald’s hack: Pick up Torani’s velvety white and dark chocolate sauces at World Market. Then simply order a large fries and squirt away with expressionistic Pollock fervor — don’t be afraid to cross the streams.
