'Today Diane Randall talks to Chad Austin about how to overcome your excuses and make fitness a priority in your life. Chad explains that “that day” when you’re not busy or tired will never happen so you need to start making fitness work with your lifestyle now. Chad and Diane examine the reasons people avoid exercise and Diane explains her past relationship with exercise and how she’s reached a healthy balance. Chad has written a book which details the excuses people give for not exercising and how to overcome these negative thoughts. The top two main excuses are; too busy and too tired and Chad recommends going to bed earlier, less processed food and limiting caffeine to start helping with tiredness. Chad has spent 10 years as a personal trainer, after moving into training from PE teaching in schools. He now owns his own studio and has written his first book called “Make Fitness A Priority: How to win the fight against your excuses”. What you will learn: Chad asked people what their top two aims were in life and all answered; career and family. Chad is trying to make fitness one of our top priorities. Fitness shouldn’t be something you get to later in life. The top excuses for not exercising are; I don’t know what I’m doing, it’s boring, injury, cost, equipment, too tired, too busy. If you’re tired eat real unprocessed food ever 4 hours, limit caffeine to the morning and go to bed earlier. It’s easy to be scammed by fitness programs and celebrities because they prey on insecurities. Everyone is looking for a quick fix, but fitness should be a long term goal. Work beyond the short term goal for a lifetime of fitness and health. If you work in an office then get up and move every hour.
